We are going to be changing some things around for the next 5 weeks with our class programming. We are going into a meet preparation for 2 different events coming up.
The programming is going to be a little more powerlifting focused. With more emphasis on the squat, bench, and deadlift. It won’t be that much different than what we have been doing. There will just be a little more volume on the main lifts and the accessory movements (which are the most important) will be a bit more extensive and lengthy.
On September 3rd, Alyssa and Candace are competing in a “Pull Only” competition at the Caffiene & Kilos invitational in Sacramento. That event is just a deadlift competition. They will have 3 attempts to find their heaviest deadlift. They both have been putting up some huge numbers lately. We’re excited to see how they do!
On September 24th, Ashley is competing in her very first full powerlifting meet. She will be competing at Boss Barbell Club in Mountain View. Ashley has been consistently hitting all-time PR’s on all of her lifts. Some, even including bands and chains. It’s safe to say she’s going to show up on meet day and crush it. We’re excited to see what numbers she puts up as well!
We will be testing out our maxes on the three lifts (Squat, Bench, Deadlift) at the end of this meet prep.
